CARAT 2012.@ Pantai Banongan

A U.S. Marine Assault Amphibian Vehicle (AAV) lands at Banongan Beach, Surabaya, Java Island, Situ Bondo, Republic of Indonesia with Maries from AAV BN, 1st Marine Division and with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division conduct mobile operational urban terrain training with the Indonesian Marines on June 4, 2012.  Marinir Indonesia - AS Serbu Pantai Banongan

Prajurit Korps Marinir TNI AL dan Marinir Amerika yang biasa disebut USMC menyerbu pantai Banongan, Situbondo, Jawa Timur, untuk melumpuhkan musuh yang menduduki pantai Banongan, Selasa, (5/6/2012).

Penyerbuan 4 sasaran yang dikuasai musuh itu, adalah skenario dari latihan operasi amfibi “Marinies Exercise” yang merupakan bagian dari Latihan Bersama antara TNI Angkatan Laut dengan Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat dari jajaran "US Pacific Command" (USPaCom) yang bersandi "Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2012".

Latihan yang disaksikan Komandan Gugus 73.1 Rear Admiral Tom Carney, Pangarmatim Laksamana Muda TNI Agung Pramono, Komandan Pasmar-1 Brigadir Jenderal TNI (Mar) Tommy Basari Natanegara, Komandan Satgas CARAT 2012 dari AS, Capt David A Welch, Komandan Satgas CARAT 2012 TNI AL Kolonel Laut (P) Rahmat Eko Rahardjo, Komandan Brigif-1 Marinir Kolonel Marinir Wurjanto, Komandan Resimen Kavaleri-1 Marinir Kolonel Marinir Sarjito dan para Asisten Komandan Pasmar-1 itu, diawali dengan bantuan tembakan kapal ke arah pantai yang dilakukan USS Germantown.

Setelah terdengar bantuan tembakan kapal, diikuti dengan keluarnya 4 kendaraan tempur BTR-50 milik Korps Marinir TNI AL dari perut KRI Banda Aceh-593 dan 13 Assault Ampbhibious Vehicle (AAV) milik USMC dari USS Germantown LSD-42 yang berada di perairan teluk Jangkar. Setelah berada di laut, kemudian kendaraan tempur tersebut membentuk formasi untuk melakukan pendaratan pasukan ke pantai Banongan yang telah diduduki musuh, BTR-50 yang mengangkut prajurit Korps Marinir TNI AL bergerak di sebelah kanan, sedangkan AAV yang mengangkut USMC bergerak di sektor kiri.

Setelah mendarat sesuai gelombang pendaratan, ratusan prajurit Marinir keluar dari kendaraan tempur dan membentuk perimeter pantai, kemudian bergerak maju dengan saling melindungi temannya untuk menyerang sasaran, sasaran 1 dan 2 diselesaikan oleh prajurit Korps Marinir TNI AL, sasaran 3 diselesaikan oleh Marinir Amerika.

Sedangkan sasaran 4 atau sasaran pokok diselesaikan bersama-sama antara prajurit Korps Marinir TNI AL dibawah pimpinan Komandan Kompi Kapten Marinir Novri G. Kaloh dan Marinir Amerika (USMC) dibawah pimpinan Komandan Kompi Captain Richard. Kerjasama Marinir kedua negara tersebut berhasil merebut dan menguasai sasaran yang sebelumnya dikuasai musuh.

Sementara itu, menurut Komandan Gugus 73.1 Rear Admiral Tom Carney, operasi amfibi adalah operasi yang paling sulit di dunia, karena operasi itu membutuhkan koordinasi yang baik antara pasukan di darat dan di laut.

Selesai latihan operasi amfibi, prajurit Korps Marinir TNI AL dari Batalyon Infanteri-1 Marinir dengan Komandan Batalyon Mayor Marinir Teddy Yulianda Bakri menampilkan kesenian berupa Rampak Gendang dan Tari Badinding, selain itu para prajurit “Gung-Ho” juga unjuk kebolehan dalam pencak silat dan kekebalan tubuh.

Diantaranya berupa kebal senjata tajam, berjalan di atas tangga pisau tajam, bergulung di atas duri, ditusuk-tusuk jarum, memakan silet, hingga mematahkan besi dan balok dengan menggunakan tangan. Melihat penampilan tersebut, personel USMC kerap terdengar memberikan aplaus meriah.

Kegiatan latihan diakhiri dengan berbagi pengetahuan tentang kesenjataan yang dimiliki Marinir kedua negara.(Pen Pasmar-1)(Dispenal Mabesal)
