TNI to Add More Personnel in UN Peacekeeping Missions

The soldiers will later be deployed in conflict and post-conflict areas such as in Lebanon, Sudan, and Haiti.

According to Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Marsetio, there are over 1,569 TNI personnel currently deployed on UN Mission. "With 100 personnel from KRI Frans Kaisiepo, there are in total of 1,669 personnel," said Marsetio.

He mentioned that there will be an additional of 800 men from the army to assist mission in Darfur, Sudan.
