According to an MoD statement, defence officials of the two countries - led by Indonesia's Deputy Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Canada's ambassador to Indonesia Donald Bobiash - said the two countries would explore potential opportunities for defence trade and related industrial co-operation.
Defence trade between the two countries in the past has largely featured Indonesian purchases of Canadian-made military aircraft parts and engines. For instance, the Dirgantara N-219 light transport aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-61 engines.
