Total donated up to 1,287 Humvees
Kuala Lumpur ★ The United States has donated eight "gunboats" to Lebanon, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) announced on its website on 14 April.
The photographs posted on the LAF website suggested that at least some of the craft are Sea Force 11 m Enforcer Cab RIBs made by the US company Willard Marine. Built to US Navy standards, this rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB) is powered by twin inboard diesel engines and water jets and has a weather-tight cabin.
The donation of inshore patrol craft came after the US Embassy in Beirut announced that it had delivered 176 M1123 Humvees to the LAF, bringing the total donated up to 1,287.
