Vice of Minister of Defence Visit to PT Pindad

Bandung ☆ Wakil Menteri Pertahanan (Vice of Minister of Defence) or Wamenhan Sjafrie Sjamsoedin was visited PT Pindad (Persero) on Wednesday, March 26th 2014.

He who acted as the leader of High Level Committee (HLC) was accepted by Board of Commissioner, Board of Director, and the high level officials on the event which was held at 10th Building, 2nd Production Department of Special Vehicle Division. Also accompanied Wamenhan were the member of HLC.

Wamenhan visit along with the HLC members, which was a combination from Ministry of Defence, Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional (The Agency of National Planning and Development) or Bappenas, Ministry of Finance, and Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan (The Agency of Financial and Development Supervisor) or BPKP was done in order to see the progress of AMX-13 retrofit and tactical vehicle 4×4 Mistral contract.

President Director of PT Pindad (Persero) Tri Hardjono was explaining the AMX-13 contract development and some obstacles that were faced by PT Pindad (Persero), both technical and non-technical problems.

Up to now, PT Pindad (Persero) had managed to create a first article, i.e. one unit of the AMX-13 with Canon type. This one unit had undergone some reconditioning or replacement of the component that is completely new.

The modified vehicle components were the machine that used by the vehicle, as well as the addition of 105 mm Canon, electronical weapons fire control system, and automatic transmission.

In addition to the AMX-13, was also presented progress of other PT Pindad (Persero) special vehicle projects such as the tactical vehicle 4×4 Mistral contract, Anoa Panser projects for 2013 and 2014, progress of Leopard tank project, and the development of Long Calibre Ammunitions and Rocket project.

Some advice and input from the HLC members, as well as the direction from Wamenhan for several projects of PT Pindad (Persero) were expected to provide an alternative solution to some of the projects that are running.

Wamenhan was also had a chance to see a demo of one unit of the AMX-13 and got to see one unit of tactical vehicle 4×4 Mistral. The direction of Wamenhan hoped could be a moral support and also became a motivation for PT Pindad (Persero) to continue completing a program that has been given. (Anggia)
