The Department of National Defense (DND) has released the invitation to bid for two units of landing docks for the Philippine Navy with approved budget for contract of PHP5,560,000,000.00.
The Philippine Navy is currently operating two Tarlac-class landing platform docks acquired under Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program First Horizon.
This new landing dock acquisition project is under the AFP Modernization Program Second Horizon.
“The DND/AFP, sealed bids for the Acquisition of Two (2) units New Construction Landing Docks Vessels with Four (4) units Landing Craft Utility (LCU) and Four (4) units Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for the Philippine Navy. Delivery of Goods or the contract duration should not be later than 1,095 calendar days as per Bidding Documents. Similar contract shall refer to the construction and delivery of Military Vessel with a minimum gross tonnage of 7,000 tons,” the DND said in its invitation to bid.
“The Philippine Navy requires tie-up with local companies or shipyard so that a minimum of one (1) unit of the LD will be constructed in-country,” it added.
A pre-bid conference is set on June 20, 2019. The bid opening is scheduled on July 04, 2019.
