Indonesia is Considering the Possibility of Producing a Ukrainian Armored Car "Kozak-2M2" under License

Indonesia is considering the production of "Kozak-2M2": the first prototype is shown. The Military informs about it.

Serhiy Vilkov, Head of the Development Department of the Praktika NGO, spoke on the Military Podcast about the Kozak family of armored vehicles and the interest in them from foreign customers.

Ukrainian manufacturer of special automotive equipment - Research and Production Association "Practice" is cooperating with the local Indonesian state company PT Pindad, which plans to establish licensed production of armored vehicle "Kozak-2M2" at its facilities in Indonesia.

"We plan to produce Kozak-2M2 in Indonesia, in which case it will be if the project… he is very busy now due to COVID-19…"

In 2020, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the NGO "Practice" and PT Pindad. In September of the same year, a delegation from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense visited the plant . The Indonesians got acquainted with the production facilities and the latest developments in military equipment.

Currently, Indonesia operates two armored vehicles "Kozak" photo transportation, which appeared on social networks in January 2021.

Serhiy Vilkov noted that this is a new version of the Indonesian tactical armored vehicle called Komodo, which will actually be a "Cossack" manufactured under license at a local company.

"In this case, we (ed. NGO" Practice ") will supply the armored court and individual parts, key points, and they (ed. PT Pindad) will be located there if possible…"

Recently, images of the Kozak armored vehicle in Indonesia with a changed design, which differs from all previous cars of the family, appeared on social networks.

Indonesian sources called this car a prototype presented by the defense company PT Pindad with a changed appearance, especially in the front of the body of the armored car, its hood and radiator grille. No more detailed information was provided, but due to the poor image quality, we can only assume that the armored body remained unchanged.

Tactical vehicle "Kozak-2M2" is designed for a wide range of combat missions, including actions directly on the battlefield. Particular attention is paid to mine protection, which allows the use of these vehicles in "asymmetric conflicts". This modification is designed for foreign countries and is equipped with an automatic transmission and can be equipped with Deutz or Caterpillar engines.
