Several countries are interested to buy Indonesias strategic industrial products, Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said.
Leaders of numerous countries expressed this interest when they held bilateral talks with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on the sidelines of the Asian-African Summit held at the Jakarta Convention Center on Thursday, Widjojanto stated in short text message.
The countries included Madagascar, Myanmar, Vietnam and Egypt.
Widjojanto further noted that leaders of some foreign countries planned to meet with the president director of state-owned weapons manufacturer PT Pindad to explore the possibility of buying its products.
On Thursday, President Joko Widodo held a series of bilateral talks with heads of states/governments, including Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan O. Cha, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, King of Swaziland Mswati III, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheik Hasina, President of Madagascar Rajonarimampianina Hery, Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, Nepali Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, and Vietnamese President Truong Tang Sang.
The Indonesian president is also slated to meet with Chairman of the Presidium of the North Korean Supreme Peoples Assembly Kim Jong Nam and Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Taur Matan Ruak later in the day.(*)
